The Mission: Rediscover Swartvlei’s “Green Coast” You might drive past Sedgefield every week, but when last did you actually walk the beach? Swartvlei Beach has just been awarded Green Coast Status for the second year running—a prestigious nod to its biodiversity and beauty.

- Why it’s worth the drive: Unlike the Blue Flag beaches which are about amenities, Green Coast is about wild, unspoiled nature. The walk to Gericke’s Point from here is iconic for exploring rock pools (keep an eye out for the rare African Black Oystercatcher).
